Covid-safe measure for community use

SOCIAL DISTANCING:

We operate a booking system and only take bookings from organised groups so we can control the number of people in our facilities at any one time. All visits must be pre-booked, please use our website to book or telephone the facility direct. Please note, you can only book a maximum of 48 hours in advance.

Entry, movement around the buildings and exiting is controlled. Before your first session, our site staff will brief you on these arrangements. You must then brief all members of your group/club and strictly ensure they adhered to them. Adherence will be checked by our lettings staff. Obey any directional signs carefully.

Social distancing must always be maintained; there are signs to assist you to maintain a safe distance.

Please do not turn up too early for your session; this will assist with queuing. If you are asked to queue you may be queuing outside so you may want to bring an umbrella or coat.

You will be greeted at the entrance by a member of staff who will check to make sure you are booked in before allowing you into the facility.

You are responsible for provision of first aid to members of your group/club. You must wear PPE in accordance with any Covid-19 guidance. This should be covered in your club/group risk assessment.

CLEANING MEASURES:

We have enhanced cleaning regimes that follow BCC and Public Health England guidelines. Our staff will be cleaning throughout the school day and during lettings periods to a comprehensive cleaning protocol.

All high frequency touch points will be cleaned and disinfected regularly.

We are going above and beyond guidelines where possible to keep you safe, and we will continually monitor and update our safety measures if the situation changes.

Cleaning spray and paper towels are available for you to use for touch points.

Hand sanitiser has been provided around the school and sports facilities for members of the school community and members of the public to use. We also have hand washing facilities available throughout the school.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

You must use the hand sanitiser provided when entering the school.

You must observe social distancing at all times.

Use of the water fountains is not permitted during the pandemic. Make sure your bring your own bottle of water. (Note only plain water is permitted in the Sports Hall. No sports or energy drinks as they make a mess when spilled!)

You must stay at home if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild. This includes loss of smell/taste, sore throat, fever, shortness of breath or a continuous new cough.
Please use contactless payments when possible to avoid contact.

In line with government guidance you must wear a face covering at all times when walking through the school (except during physical activity).

Website updated with new prices

This website has been update with all our new prices and a new discount structure.

This includes a two-tier discount where users booking between 2 and 10 sessions gets a 15% discount and anyone who books 10 or more sessions receives a generous 25% off the full price. Most of our community users hire our facilities on a long term basis and therefore qualify for the maxium discount.

School finance regulations mean that we have to review our prices regularly to ensure that we are covering our costs with regards to lettings and hiring out the school premises. We recently undertook an exercise to analyse the various costs involved and that is why our prices have changed. It's not about making money on lettings, its about making sure that wages, lighting, heating and fair wear and tear are all accounted for in our published prices.

Make an enquiry today to check availability and pricing - we'd love to hear from you.

Police Cadets to take up residence at BGGS

2nd May 2021
Police Cadets to take up residence at BGGS

We are thrilled to announce that the school will soon have its own Police Cadet Unit on site.

The Cadets will meet in the Sixth Form Building and the Main Quad on Tuesday nights and will initially be open to any student from the school who is interested in joining. As the Unit gorws and develops, students from other schools may have an opportunity to get involved too.

Police Cadets will give you the opportunity to develop your own social skills. Their programmes will encourage your leadership, communication, presentation and learning skills that you will be able to use in our school and later life, college and community. They also offer first aid courses and other non-police based skill development.

Do I have to have an interest in joining the police?

No. They are not looking to make you future police officers. They want you to be able to make good decisions about your future whilst becoming good citizens. The police want to listen to your views in order that they can service the needs of young people in their communities.

Enquiries welcome for when lockdown ends

Enquiries welcome for when lockdown ends

It looks like the pandemic is receding in the UK and the government has told us that we are all on the road out of lockdown.

This means that we hope to be able to re-open our community facilities in the not too distant future. This is a great relief as we know that our regular clients want to get back on site. Their members have missed the sporting activities and sense of community they get from playing in our sports hall.

All the potential new customers we have had to turn away until now are also welcome to get back in touch too

So - if you are looking for a venue to host a special event from mid June onwards or you are part of sport club looking for a new training venue, then get in touch. We promise a friendly response and we will let you know if we can accomodate you.

Our prices are detailed throughout this website so you will be able to workout roughly what your letting would cost you per session.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
